Born on September 27, 1993, in Osaka, Japan, she started playing badminton at a very young age. She was trained by her mother, who was a former badminton player, and started playing competitively when she was just six years old.
Shida quickly rose through the ranks and became a well-known name in the badminton world. She won her first international title at the age of 17, when she won the mixed doubles event at the Polish Junior Open in 2010.
